Season twelve began with sixteen new contestants who were immediately bonded with someone from the other tribe. If they could save their bond until the merge, they would receive a Hidden Immunity Idol. The battle between men and women was the major theme of the season. The women dropped one by one until only three remained at the merge. Then it was time for the men to implode. After 44 days of countless blindsides, uncontrollable drama, and a finale for the ages, Cliff became the Sole Survivor.
